St Philip’s Marsh is the largest part of the Bristol Temple Quarter Development Framework area. It is currently mainly industrial and commercial, but it is one of the few remaining areas in Bristol that could be used to provide a significant amount of new housing. An initial engagement is just finishing in order to gather feedback on ideas that could contribute to a Masterplan for the area.
BWA has submitted our comments. The opportunities we see do not fall neatly into the three options suggested by the engagement documents, so we set out what we believe is important under the three topics of focus in the engagement: local centres, open spaces and movement.
There are likely to be further rounds of consultation over the coming months leading to a Supplementary Planning Document that will set the context for how specific planning applications in the area are assessed.
