Safer Routes to Schools – zebra crossings

BWA has supported Bristol City Council proposals for new pedestrian zebra crossings at Novers Lane and Bamfield on walking routes to and from schools.

It is important that the safety of routes to schools is improved. It is also important to prevent pavement parking in the vicinity of schools.

We hope that the schools themselves will participate in schemes such as those run by Living Streets, one of the BWA member organisations, to encourage parents to avoid bringing cars near schools and to encourage their children to walk or cycle to school.

Having improved crossings could help persuade them.
