Walkfest: 50 Ways to Better Walking

BWA will be holding a public meeting during Bristol Walkfest 2022 to highlight our proposals to improve the experience of walking and the pedestrian environment.

Walkfest: 50 Ways to Better Walking

Tuesday 24 May 2022, 7pm-9pm, Watershed, Bristol

Based on the well-received booklet 50 Ways to Better Walking that we launched in November, at this free meeting we will take a look at some aspects of the pedestrian environment that affect all of us, from public toilets to pedestrian crossings, pavement parking to signposts.

We have asked three people each to choose three of the ’50 Ways’ that are important to them:

  • Laura Welti, Bristol Disability Equality Forum Manager
  • Anika Mistry, Youth Mayor, Bristol City Council
  • Ben Bowskill, Partnerships & Public Affairs Manager, Sustrans West of England

BWA is proposing measures that require policy commitments and funding from central, regional and local government – as well as support from businesses, the voluntary sector and communities.

There will also be plenty of time to ask questions and share your views. A free copy of the booklet 50 Ways to Better Walking will be available for everyone who attends.
