Temple Street developments

Temple Street is part of a key pedestrian route linking Temple Meads to Finzel’s Reach. In the City Centre Framework consultation in March 2018 it was shown as a pedestrian priority area. However, as part of redevopment of the old Avon Fire and Rescue Service Headquarters, the road is proposed to remain as a vehicle/cycle route.

Planning application 19/01255/F describes the proposed changes. BWA has welcomed the proposed improvements to the area, including full segregation between cycling and walking routes. But we commented that at least the pedestrian route along Temple Street should still be wide and unobstructed. In our response we suggest some other specific changes that should be made to the proposals.
