The West of England Combined Authority have asked for comments on a preliminary set of proposals for the A4 Bath to Bristol bus corridor. They are aimed at improving bus reliability along the route as well as providing better facilities for walking, wheeling and cycling.
BWA has responded from the perspective of Bristol pedestrians. We are pleased to see that the suggestions we made, in response to the initial consultation in 2021, for replacement of the pedestrian overbridge on Brislington Hill with a ground-level signal-controlled crossing have been included under all options.
However, we regret that the proposals for the A4 do not cover the section between Bath Bridge and Three Lamps junction in Bristol, which we have previously raised as being one of the worst pavements in the city for pedestrians.
