BWA has commented on proposed pedestrian improvements at Langton Court Road in the St Anne’s area of Bristol. The improvements are near St Anne’s Infants’ School and include the road bridge over the main Bristol to London railway line. The proposals follow earlier engagement at the start of 2021.
We supported the proposals as far as they go, but suggested that more should be done to make the environment for pedestrians more safe and welcoming. We proposed an alternative treatment at the bridge, which would be to widen the pavements on the bridge and make it single lane with priority given to one direction.
